Wall Washing

We headed up to the school today to test some drawing materials on the wall, and measure it. We also needed to wash the wall so we don't paint on top of a lot of dirt. If we had any hopes of quietly painting this in the corner without attracting much attention, those were completely dashed this afternoon. Kids were filing past asking excited questions, and aids and other staff members were also very curious. It looks like this painting will be a bit of a spectacle.
Anyway here we are washing. Mike is taller so he got the sponge mop...

Here I am shredding a sponge on the stucco...

"People are willing to take these extraordinary chances to become writers, musicians, or painters, and because of them, we have a culture. If this ever stops, our culture will die, because most of our culture, in fact, has been created by people that got paid nothing for it--people like Edgar Allan Poe, Vincent Van Gogh or Mozart."-Kurt Vonnegut
