Today we put down the drop cloth and began painting some base colors.
Here I am just beginning.
This is when we ran out of dark blue.
Mike working on the water. As you can see we decided to save our shoes and paint barefoot.
Here I am painting a dolphin in my painting coveralls. With two overseas moves in two years, I have no "old clothes" anymore, so I went with the dorky white jumpsuit look.
This is where we finished today. People kept walking up to us saying it looked great! Which is baffling, as putting down base colors means make it "ugly" and blurry, so you can render it right later...
"People are willing to take these extraordinary chances to become writers, musicians, or painters, and because of them, we have a culture. If this ever stops, our culture will die, because most of our culture, in fact, has been created by people that got paid nothing for it--people like Edgar Allan Poe, Vincent Van Gogh or Mozart."-Kurt Vonnegut
